Galvanic Isolation, Self-Powered: Digital isolator breaks USB-CAN signal path. Onboard DC-DC supplies isolated 5V and GND to CAN side—no external supply needed. Eliminates ground loops; bus faults stay on bus. Pin 3 is isolated GND—do not tie to PC GND. Open Source Hardware, Published: We publish our designs back. Full schematic & PCB layout on GitHub (dsdtech-official) as editable files under CERN-OHL-S-2.0, plus firmware. All claims verifiable in schematic. CAN FD at Full Speed, Out of Box: No reflash, serial port, or mode switch. Factory build runs CAN FD over gs_usb like classic CAN, up to 5Mbit/s with 64-byte frames. Same MCU/firmware as SH-C31A, tested with isolation. Units from Sep 2026 ship with v1.4. Built for a Real Bus: 4-pin 5.0mm screw terminal—CAN_L, CAN_H, isolated GND, isolated +5V (can power a small node). Built-in 120Ω termination switch (disable if bus already has two). Each CAN line has resettable fuse & TVS clamp; USB side has its own protection.
